This month, Otaku moved into a brand new office. The new office situated at 146 Robinson is located across the SIA Building and has been fitted out to meet our growth expectation over the next few years.
Otaku have worked closely with Singapore-based accounting and business advisory firm, Ardent in revitalizing their identity to raise brand awareness and increase market share. A bespoke typeface was developed for the new logo and a simple identity system were applied and extended to various communication materials.
The new tagline “Client Focused. Excellence Driven.” was introduced to reflect their mantra to forwarding the business.

A core component of this initiative was also to redesign and redevelop their web presence. These goals have been realized by a professional interface design and by clearly promoting the firms value proposition, capabilities, services and customer focus. The web site utilizes a simple but powerful Content Management System that allows Ardent to update their web site at anytime.

The site and new branding materials went live mid September to coincide with the new office move.

Welcome to Otaku. A new web development and online marketing company based in Singapore.
Having worked as a traditional marketer in traditional MNC settings for the greater part of my professional career I was fascinated with the evolution of the traditional role of the marketer with the digital age – heralding blogging superstars like Seth Godin, Hugh MacLeod and Chris Borgan as my personal heroes. I love how Seth Godin references the term otaku, a term which I associate myself with due to my obsession with anime and Japanese culture growing up. A term that is aptly used to describe anyone with an obsession in something in something – be it anime, video gaming or, in the context of Otaku, the studio – online marketing and social media.
There’s a great quote from Seth Godin in a presentation over on TED on the term ‘Otaku’:
‘They have something I call otaku — it’s a great Japanese word. It describes the desire of someone who’s obsessed to say, drive across Tokyo to try a new ramen noodle place, because that’s what they do. They get obsessed with it. To make a product, to market an idea, to come up with any problem you want to solve that doesn’t have a constituency with an otaku, is almost impossible.’
Our web site promotes the 21st century Otaku (us); experienced, informed, creative and obsessively passionate on all things digital. Our team has worked very hard on delivering an experience that communicates who we are and what we do, and we believe confidently that you will get exactly what you see.
If you have any question about our new site, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you, and the opportunity to talk about how we can add value to your business or organisation in the future.
